LAVITA Staking and Unstaking
Staking LAVITA will be done from the Lavita website, and will not require you to run a node (i.e. you do not need to operate a Theta Guardian Node or Theta Edge Node to stake LAVITA). Also, it is fully secure and safe as your LAVITA tokens never leave your wallet.
Staking LAVITA helps secure and govern the Lavita Theta subchain and plays a critical role in the blockchain ecosystem. Stakers will earn LAVITA for staking LAVITA tokens based on their proportional stake to the total tokens staked by the community. Staking rewards are earned from a pool of 1.2B tokens allocated over a 4-year period.
To begin staking, go to the Lavita website, click the Stake button in the upper right, and connect your wallet holding your LAVITA tokens.
Tokens can be staked from either a Metamask wallet, or a mobile Theta Wallet using the WalletConnect feature.
Once you’ve connected your wallet, you will see your total LAVITA tokens and your staked LAVITA tokens displayed, as well as any pending stake withdrawals.
To stake additional tokens, click Stake, enter the number of LAVITA tokens you want to stake, and click Stake again.
To unstake, you just need to follow a similar procedure. Click unstake, enter the number of LAVITA tokens you want to unstake, and click unstake again. You’ll then see your pending stake withdrawal displayed.
Note: there is a cooldown period of 70,000 blocks (approximately 5 days) from when you request the stake withdrawal to when you’ll have the LAVITA tokens available to claim.
